Affine projection sign algorithm with ℓ1 minimization-based variable step-size

چکیده
In this paper, a new affine projection sign algorithm with a variable step-size, robust in impulsive noise environments, is proposed. For that purpose, l1-norm of the a posteriori error vector is minimized under a box constraint on the step-size. Since the proposed l1-norm minimization problem is non-differentiable convex one, an efficient numerical procedure is developed for the affine projection structure algorithm. Finally, it is demonstrated that the proposed algorithm, not requiring any a priori knowledge, yields more robust convergence in various impulsive noise environments than conventional algorithms with robustness to outliers and recent variable step-size algorithms with a priori information. & 2014 Elsevier B.V. A new efficient filtered-x affine projection sign algorithm for active control of impulsive noise
Impulsive noise is often encountered in the practical active noise control (ANC) applications. Traditional ANC algorithms fail to control such noise. Derived by minimizing the l1 norm of an estimated a posteriori error vector, a new filtered-x affine projection sign algorithm (NFxAPSA) is proposed to efficiently and effectively suppress impulsive noise. Two typical extensions, such as variable ...
متن کاملThe Variable Step-Size Gauss-Seidel Pseudo Affine Projection Algorithm
In this paper, a new pseudo affine projection (AP) algorithm based on Gauss-Seidel (GS) iterations is proposed for acoustic echo cancellation (AEC). It is shown that the algorithm is robust against near-end signal variations (including double-talk). Keywords—pseudo affine projection algorithm, acoustic echo cancellation, double-talk.

For a vehicular hands-free communication system, the sound quality of communication is usually degraded by noise which is known to be detrimental to system performance. In this paper, a novel adaptive filtering algorithm and an integrated system for acoustic echo and noise cancellation are presented. The proposed system includes adaptive noise cancellation, line enhancer, and echo cancellation ...
متن کاملNonlinear Active Noise Control Using Volterra Filtering with a Variable Step-size Gs-pap Algorithm
In this paper, a nonlinear active noise control (ANC) is proposed using adaptive Volterra filtering with a variable step-size Gauss-Seidel pseudo affine projection (VSSGSPAP) algorithm. In particular, it requires a lower computational burden than the VSS affine projection (VSSAP) algorithm, and provides an improved convergence as the VSSAP algorithm does. Simulation results show that the propos...
متن کاملModified Filtered-x Affine Projection Sign Algorithm for Active Control of Impulsive Noise
For active noise control problems, when noise sources are contaminated by impulsive noise, the classic FxLMS converges slowly or even diverges. In order to effectively control such impulsive noise sources, by minimizing the L1-norm of an error vector, a modified filteredx affine projection sign algorithm (MFxAPSA) has been proposed. An exact efficient implementation can greatly reduce its numbe...
